March 1st to May 31st, 2008 - Flanagan-Monsky Traveling Exhibit
In honor of the Home's 90th anniversary the Men of Vision exhibit will be on display in the Hall of History until May 2008. The display features the unique working relationship between Father Flanagan and the Home's first donor Henry Monsky at a time when racial and religious discrimination was accepted at the norm. Mr. Monsky was a member of the Home's Board of Directors and worked pro bono as the Home's attorney until his death in 1947. Through his efforts international B'nai B'rith was created and the ground work for the nation of Israel was put in place. The display highlights both of their international missions, and their work continues with Boys Town and the Omaha Jewish Community Center. The display was a joint project of the Boys Town Hall of History and Nebraska Jewish Historical Society.
